Pascha's Healthy Mediterranean Cuisine, Lincoln Road
Quick Review! Don't go! 0/10. Got sucked in by 'healthy'
The Dutch, W Hotel in South Beach
Last night we went to The Dutch restaurant at the W hotel in South Beach. It replaced the previous restaurant that was off the lobby, so Mr. Chow is still at the W.
The Dutch is a NY restaurant by Chef Andrew Carmellini
Things started off great in that we could park in a public parking lot just 20 yards from the entrance for $3.00 instead of $20.00 and I didn’t have to wait for my car.
The restaurant opened last Monday and it was simply beautiful. They did an amazing job making it warm. Reminded me of a large Liverpool House from Montreal.
Then the best news of the night—Seth from STK was the General Manager. To me that meant great service and ‘no attitude’ like next door with John at Mr. Chow.
The service was ‘Zuma-like’. People cleaning your table after every course, offering to re-fill your glasses and making sure everything was to your liking. Three different managers and the maître d, Onju, all regularly checked on us. The service was as good as it gets.
The menu was also great. Mona-Lee had the oysters and said they were great as was the chicken and scallop main courses. My salad was different with pears, ham and cheese, but just OK. The desserts were amazing, especially the blueberry-crumble pie. They have different homemade pies each day.
The best news is that The Dutch is also open for breakfast and lunch and has a beautiful outdoor seating area to boot. We will likely try brunch on Sunday as still looking for that great breakfast place.
The bill was very low because Seth comped the drinks and desserts at $106 including tip. 18% tip included in the bill, 20% for parties of 6+.
My only minor complaint was the ‘Vegas Diet Coke’ i.e. more ice than diet coke.
Bottom Line: We are definitely going back
8.5/10
