Le Tub, Hollywood

Just realized I never did a review on Le Tub in Hollywood although I have been there many times.
One of my favorites for lunch.
Voted the Best Hamburger by GQ Magazine many years ago and was on Oprah.
One of the best thick burgers you will ever eat and great key lime pie too boot.
A style that you got to love and usually a long wait for your food even if you are seated as they have a small grill and each burger takes 30 minutes+ to cook.
Well worth the wait.
It’s just North of Hollywood Blvd on the intercostal side and you can drive by it 5 times and not notice it. Look just past a tacky little shopping center and look for the toilets.
We had a 6 foot iguana as a lunch guest that walked through the restaurant.

Parking lot just north of restaurant

Salumeria 104, Wynwood Midtown

Went to Salumeria 104 in Midtown at Wynwood last night.
Salumeria 104 is based on the Italian concept of a trattoria and small neighborhood shop where one can find Italian specialty cured meats and other delicacies, also known as a salumi shop.
Lots of pork dishes, cold cuts and pastas.
Everything was good and well-priced and it had a nice feel to the restaurant which included outside tables.
$70/couple incl tip is a great deal.
I might go back.

Terrible parking problems and no valet.

Sardeli's Italian Steakhouse, Hollywood

Went to Sardeli’s Italian Steakhouse in Hollywood earlier in the week just 2 blocks South of Hollywood Blvd on Van Buren.
These are the same people that own Fulvio’s 1900 in Hollywood and they are from Montreal.
I was hoping for a good steakhouse that offered really good value.
The new restaurant was really nice with a nice bar but it was expensive.
The salads were just OK and the steaks were excellent. The chicken was just average and the desserts were very good.
The best deal was a large steak for 2 for $75 that could easily satisfy 3 people. If you have 3 people that want steak then this offers great value.
Bottom line is that for $170/couple incl tip there are many, many other options such as Mortons, Palm, Red, Joe’s, Prime 112, etc. We didn’t need another one at these prices.
Not sure I’ll go back.
