Asia Bay Thai Cuisine, Bay Harbour Islands near The Palm

Last week we went to Asia Bay Thai Cuisine in Bay Harbour Islands around the corner from The Palm.
I am not a sushi eater so I am not able to properly rate this restaurant based upon my own taste.
Everyone I was with loved it. My meal was just OK. No better than Eddie Hill’s Sushi Thai.
I won’t go back because I don’t like sushi.
No rating.

Bagelworks Restaurant and Deli, Aventura, Loehman's Plaza

On two separate occasions in the last weeks we have gone to Bagelworks Restaurant and Deli in Aventura in Loehman’s Plaza. Once for breakfast and once for lunch.
We had to wait 20 minutes to get in on both occasions.
The place was clean and busy and the deli counter and take-out looked great.
The salads were HUGE and really good and a great value.
Same for the breakfast. Really good.
Much, much better than Mo’s across the street.
Will definitely go back for breakfast or lunch.

Emelio's Trattoria, Bay Harbour Island near The Palm

Last week we went to Emelio’s Trattoria on 96th in Bay Harbour, around the corner from The Palm.
The restaurant is owned by the former maitre’d of Ragazzi in Surfside/Bal Harbour.
It is much nicer than Ragazzi and has a nice outdoor eating area on the sidewalk.
The crowd was a typically old Bal Harbour crowd.
The food was good and cheap but the portions were small.
The service was really good and friendly.
I’d go back for a quick, cheap, easy meal

Ni. Do. Caffe and Mozzarella Bar, 72nd on Biscayne

Last week we found a ‘gem’ that no one really knows about. It’s called Ni. Do. Caffe and Mozzarella  Bar on Biscayne near 72nd.
It was a small and quaint Italian restaurant with an owner/waiter that was straight from Italy.
The food was really good as was the entire vibe.
All 3 pasta dishes everyone had were excellent, although my steak was cold and tough.
That being said I would definitely go back.
Bill was $106 incl tip and drinks.

Eddie Hill's Sushi Thai, Biscayne North of Hallendale Blvd

Went to Eddie Hill’s Sushi Thai on Biscayne just north of Hallendale.
It was always crowded and many told me it was good so we tried it despite the fact that it looked like a dump.
I was presently surprised and would go back although not as good as P.F. Chang’s.
My wife liked the sushi, loved the soup and the 2 Thai dishes I had were very good.
And they deliver so I will try it again via delivery at the very least.
$54 incl tip with 1 sake.

Villa Azur, 23rd west of Collins

Went to Villa Azur last night for its grand opening on 23rd street just west of the Gansevoort Hotel.
This is by far the nicest looking restaurant in Miami. Modern and elegant with an amazing bar, outdoor seating area and décor. They must have spent a fortune on it.
It is owned by Olivier Martinez(boyfriend of Halle Berry), Michael Martin and Jean Philippe Bernard. See bios from website.
The food was excellent as was the service and the music.
Music was not as good as STK but better than anywhere else.
The scene was amazing just live Juvia or the W Hotel which is next door.
Everyone loved the food. Two people said the tuna tartare was the best ever and the loved the branzino. My steak was good but not better than Capital Grill or Sardinia. Not a great choice of salads but those that had the asparagus salad loved.
Both desserts we had were also wonderful.
Valet parking was $20 but there was lots of street parking.
Amazingly the prices were not outrageous. Bill for two with tip was $185 with 2 drinks including their house specialty, The Vie en Rose.
I will definitely go back.

Serendipity 3 on Lincoln Road, Dinner

Went to Serendipity 3 on Lincoln Road last week for dinner.
I have to say it was great for what it was.
The burgers were really, really good. Just a little too big to handle gracefully.
We did not have the salads but saw several being served next to us and they looked awesome.
And the dessert selection, portion size and value was not to be believed.
