Da Vinci Caffe, Bay Harbour next to Palm and Asia Bay

Last night we tried Da Vinci CaffĂ© around the corner from The Palm and next to Asia Bay  in Bay Harbour.
The restaurant was empty but the service, food and presentation were really good.
Emelio’s, across the street, was 60% full and I guess is hurting Da Vinci’s.
The 2 salads were really good and as was the chicken and salmon entrees.
Prices were average at $115 for two with tip incl and 2 drinks.
7.5/10
I liked it better than Emelio’s and Regazzi but hated being there by ourselves.

Piazetta Marketplace and Restaurant, Acqualina Hotel, Sunny Isles

Last night we went to the new restaurant at Acqualina resort called Piazetta Marketplace and Restaurant which is associated with Il Mulino.
They had a much bigger menu than I thought including pizza, sushi, fish and meat and the prices were reasonable which surprised me.
My steak and mushrooms was great for only $25 and my wife’s chicken was a bit bland and only $18.50.
Both salads were great.
The outdoor seating is overlooking the ocean and the restaurant was beautiful.
I’d go back because it was close and reasonably priced. Especially for lunch.

Asia Bay Thai Cuisine, Bay Harbour Islands near The Palm

Last week we went to Asia Bay Thai Cuisine in Bay Harbour Islands around the corner from The Palm.
I am not a sushi eater so I am not able to properly rate this restaurant based upon my own taste.
Everyone I was with loved it. My meal was just OK. No better than Eddie Hill’s Sushi Thai.
I won’t go back because I don’t like sushi.
No rating.

Bagelworks Restaurant and Deli, Aventura, Loehman's Plaza

On two separate occasions in the last weeks we have gone to Bagelworks Restaurant and Deli in Aventura in Loehman’s Plaza. Once for breakfast and once for lunch.
We had to wait 20 minutes to get in on both occasions.
The place was clean and busy and the deli counter and take-out looked great.
The salads were HUGE and really good and a great value.
Same for the breakfast. Really good.
Much, much better than Mo’s across the street.
Will definitely go back for breakfast or lunch.

Emelio's Trattoria, Bay Harbour Island near The Palm

Last week we went to Emelio’s Trattoria on 96th in Bay Harbour, around the corner from The Palm.
The restaurant is owned by the former maitre’d of Ragazzi in Surfside/Bal Harbour.
It is much nicer than Ragazzi and has a nice outdoor eating area on the sidewalk.
The crowd was a typically old Bal Harbour crowd.
The food was good and cheap but the portions were small.
The service was really good and friendly.
I’d go back for a quick, cheap, easy meal

Ni. Do. Caffe and Mozzarella Bar, 72nd on Biscayne

Last week we found a ‘gem’ that no one really knows about. It’s called Ni. Do. Caffe and Mozzarella  Bar on Biscayne near 72nd.
It was a small and quaint Italian restaurant with an owner/waiter that was straight from Italy.
The food was really good as was the entire vibe.
All 3 pasta dishes everyone had were excellent, although my steak was cold and tough.
That being said I would definitely go back.
Bill was $106 incl tip and drinks.
8/10
Self-parking in small shopping mall.

Eddie Hill's Sushi Thai, Biscayne North of Hallendale Blvd

Went to Eddie Hill’s Sushi Thai on Biscayne just north of Hallendale.
It was always crowded and many told me it was good so we tried it despite the fact that it looked like a dump.
I was presently surprised and would go back although not as good as P.F. Chang’s.
My wife liked the sushi, loved the soup and the 2 Thai dishes I had were very good.
And they deliver so I will try it again via delivery at the very least.
$54 incl tip with 1 sake.
